Basics of the Economy Empty Basics of the Economy

Post by Artimus Mon Apr 07, 2014 4:38 pm

This should explain the basics of how to earn money and maintain an economy.

The most simple way to earn money is taxes. Here are the tax incomes from each of the city and castle tiers. The money system is represent by "gold" it is a representative term for currency.

    Cities:
    Tier 1: 10 Gold
    Tier 2: 25 Gold
    Tier 3: 40 Gold
    Tier 4: 55 Gold
    Tier 5: 75 Gold
    Tier 6: 100 Gold

    Castles:
    Tier 1: 5 Gold
    Tier 2: 10 Gold
    Tier 3: 20 Gold
    Tier 4: 25 Gold
    Tier 5: 35 Gold

    Income from Buildings:

    Small Farms- 2 Gold
    Farms- 2 Days - 4 Gold
    Land Clearance- 6 Gold
    Communal Farming- 8 Gold
    Irrigated Farmland- 10 Gold

    Grain Exchange- 3 Gold
    Market- 3 Days - 5 Gold
    Grand Market- 7 Gold
    Merchant's Guild- 9 Gold
    Merchants Quarter(Town Section)- 11 Gold

    Trade Port- 5 Gold
    Trade Dock- 10 Gold
    Trade Docklands- 15 Gold
    Merchant's Wharf- 20 Gold
    Merchant's Warehouse- 25 Gold

    Tavern - 3 Gold
    Brewery - 6 Gold
    Inn - 4 Days - 9 Gold
    Coaching House- 12 Gold
    Grand Hostel- 15 Gold

    Hamlet- 5 Gold
    Village- 8 Gold
    Town- 10 Gold
    Large Town- 15 Gold
    Small City- 20 Gold

Now comes the topic of tax. Tax is something that the Lord above you determines. He/she may determine how much to take from their vassals. The only person exempt from tax is the King. Tax can only be collected from human players and NPCs in your High Lordship. We understand that you could be earning insane amounts of money if we let you take from all the NPCs below you, but alas you can only take tax from NPCs in your high lordship and human players. So tax wisely or rebellion may be brewing.

You are expected to maintain the economy section of your Lordship's thread. The admins will regularly check these for any fraud. So do it properly. You simply keep it up to date whenever you can. You recieve taxes every Friday (out of game). So we suggest that you pay your taxes on that day as well to make sure you dont "forget" to pay your lord.

Are these individual buildings themselves or are they upgrades of the prior one? If yes, what are the requirements to upgrade your "buildings"?

They are tiers just like the cities and castles. When you build one it replaces the previous one.
