This section here should tell you everything you need to know about troops and how to get them.
How do you acquire troops? It works on the principle that each tiered city/ castle can supply a certain amount of regiments.
Cities:
Tier 1: 2 Regiments
Tier 2: 3 Regiments
Tier 3: 4 Regiments
Tier 4: 5 Regiments
Tier 5: 6 Regiments
Tier 6(King's Landing): 8 Regiments
Castles:
Tier 1: 1 Regiment
Tier 2: 2 Regiments
Tier 3: 3 Regiments
Tier 4: 4 Regiments
Tier 5: 5 Regiments
Everyone is to use a regiment system where each infantry regiment is 500 men and each cavalry regiment is 250 men. You may yourself choose what these regiments are. There are several different types of units you can choose from. The lists below include the individual regimental prices. It takes one out of game day to recruit a regiment.(1 week in game)
Cities can Recruit:
Spearmen- 15 Gold
Archers- 10 Gold
Castles can Recruit:
Men at Arms (Swordsmen)- 20 Gold
Crossbowmen- 12 Gold
Knights- 35 Gold
Cavalry- 25 Gold
Many of you are probably wondering, is there no Heavy,Medium,Light version for these units? This is determined by the equipment level. There is a post that explains this:
In addition each Lord Paramount can recruit a special regiment from his/her capital. These are fixed regiments(Their unit type cannot be changed). There can only be one of these regiments per paramounty active at any time. They are better then other regiments and this will be taken into accout when/if they are used in battle. The only unit here with a special weapon type is the North's Longclaw Axemen. They use axes and shields and will be considered similar to Men at Arms.
Special Regiments for each Lord Paramount:
The Westerlands: The Gold Shields (Swordmen) 1,000 Men
The Reach: The Thorn Guard (Cavalry) 500 Men
The North: The Longclaw Axemen (Axemen) 1,000 Men
The Vale: The Falcon's Talons (Spearmen) 1,000 Men
The Riverlands: The Stranger's Song (Archers) 1,000 Men
The Stormlands: The Storm Guard (Cavalry) 500 Men
Dorne: The Sun's Light (Spearmen) 1,000 Men
The Iron Islands: The Drowned Men (Swordsmen) 1,000 Men
All the Units above cost 50 Gold to recruit.
As always, if you have any questions feel free to post something here in the thread.
